Our Fees

We charge notarial fees on a per document basis. On request, we will assess your notarial requirements and provide a fixed quote. For more complex certifications, we will charge according to the hourly rate of the instructed notary which will be advised at the outset.

In addition to notarial fees, we may charge for ancillary services such as arranging legalisations or translations, call out visits, document couriering and drafting. If applicable, these additional fees will be advised in our quote and may be based on a fixed fee or hourly rate basis depending on the service needed.

VAT (Value Added Tax) will be applied to our fees if you are resident within the United Kingdom. Our VAT registration number is 946522901. If you are resident outside of the United Kingdom, VAT will not be charged.

The minimum charge for traditional paper based notarisation when dealing with a single document is £80 plus VAT (£96) for personal documents and £100 plus VAT (£120) for business documents. For eNotarisation the minimum charge is £120 plus VAT (£144). We will need to review the document to provide an accurate final price.

Disbursements

Where we incur any costs from third parties, these fees will be passed directly on to you as disbursements. These disbursements include any fees charged by consulates and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) when legalising a document. We will inform you of likely disbursements when providing you with a quote and for an indication of fees you can also visit our country requirements list. Please note that any consulate fee will be provided to you in good faith, however consulates can change their fees and procedures without notice.

Where we can, we will help keep disbursement costs to a minimum. For example, if possible, we may suggest bundling your documents under fewer notarial certificates as this will result in fewer charges payable to the FCDO and, in most cases, any consulate.

Additional disbursements may include translation fees, Companies House fees, and fees charged by universities for verification. These fees will be advised to you at the outset and we will not incur any disbursements without your consent.

Commissioner for Oaths

We provide a UK commissioner for oaths certification on a discretionary basis for documents to be used only in England and Wales. Pricing is subject to the current statutory rate, namely £5.00 for witnessing an affidavit, declaration or affirmation, and £2.00 for each exhibit to be signed. Where the statutory rate is not applicable, the fixed fee for a Commissioner for Oaths certification is £10.00. A fixed appointment fee of £50.00 will also apply, and if you are residing in the UK VAT will be applicable on all fees. Please note that for any document to be used outside of the United Kingdom, including South Africa and Hong Kong, we only provide notarial certification.
